Rejuran is now one of the most requested treatments in Dubai, and counterfeit products have followed the demand. Polynucleotides are expensive to manufacture, and a fake syringe & box can look convincing. Patients are not usually in a position to spot one, and occasionally clinics aren’t either.
That said, authentic Rejuran can be verified in the treatment room in about a minute. This article explains what to check and what to ask.
Korean domestic vs export Rejuran
An important distinction first. PharmaResearch, the Korean manufacturer, produces Rejuran for its home market and a separate version for international export. The product itself is identical. What differs is the labelling and the regulatory registration. The domestic version has Korean-only packaging and a Korean MFDS licence number. The export version adds translations and, for the European lines, a CE mark.
One practical difference: the NFC tag, which some patients have read about, exists only on the Korean domestic version. An export box without one is normal.
A domestic-labelled box in a Dubai clinic is not a sign of a better product; in fact, it is a red flag. Rejuran that enters the UAE legitimately arrives as the registered export version through an authorised distributor. It has cleared customs, travelled in a monitored shipment, and can be traced.
A Korean-only box has, by definition, arrived outside that chain, which means there is no record of how it was stored or handled. If a clinic advertises “the real Korean version”, it implies that they haven’t sourced their product from the official channels.
The Hidden Tag hologram is your main check
Every genuine box carries a holographic QR label. Scanning it with an ordinary camera app will not work. It is verified through Hidden Tag, a free anti-counterfeit app used by Korean manufacturers. Scan the hologram through the app and it confirms whether the product is genuine.

This is the most reliable check available to a patient. The hologram is difficult to reproduce and the authentication is done by the app, not by eye. A label that does not scan, scans as invalid, or is a flat printed sticker rather than a hologram is grounds to question the authenticity of the product.
Ask them to open it in front of you
A box of Rejuran Healer contains two syringes, each sealed in its own individual wrapping. Clinics routinely use one syringe on one patient and the second on another. An outer box that is already open is therefore normal and not a cause for concern.
What matters is the individual syringe. It should be in its own intact sealed wrapping, opened in front of you, with a batch number matching the box it came from. You can also ask for the hologram to be scanned through Hidden Tag while you watch. This takes under a minute and a clinic using genuine products has no reason to decline.

Ask where they bought it
A clinic sourcing genuine Rejuran can name its authorised distributor, because that relationship is how the product is supplied. Vague answers — “our supplier”, “a contact in Korea”, “we buy wholesale” — mean the chain of custody has a gap in it. Asking is not rude. You can then independently verify whether the distributor is the official representative of PharmaResearch in your country.
Why this matters
Rejuran works because of what is in it: purified polynucleotides from salmon DNA, which stimulate skin regeneration — collagen production, dermal thickness, elasticity. Counterfeits substitute this with something cheaper. Usually this is either plain hyaluronic acid or unregulated PDRN of unknown grade. The results of using counterfeit products are either ineffective results, or worse, a serious inflammatory reaction.
Summary
Before treatment, you should be able to confirm these things:
- Hologram QR that verifies through the Hidden Tag app.
- Matching batch numbers across box and syringe.
- The syringe opened from its sealed wrapping in front of you.
- Clinic that can name its distributor.
If any of these is missing, ask why before proceeding.
